RIO'S FAVELAS AT THE NEW CRAFTSMAN, ST IVES, 2015

I’m currently exhibiting at the fabulous New Craftsman Gallery, St Ives http://www.newcraftsmanstives.com.

This new body of work is inspired by my visit to Rio de Janeiro last year to volunteer at the Street Child World Cup  http://www.streetchildunited.org  a charity that uses sport and art to change the lives of street children.

I work from photographs and memory. These images document the landscape of the notorious suburb, Cidade des Deus (City of God), and  Vidigal Favela, illustrating how I have drawn on these for inspiration when making the vessels. You can read more at https://newcraftsmanblog.wordpress.com
